Join artist Rosie Gibbens who makes art from everyday objects and performance, using fabric to create sculptures that make the human figure look larger-than-life. Get inspired by Rosie’s work to create extensions on your body, out of everyday materials, to change how you look and move. Explore as a family how you can add and enlarge body parts to make a version of your body that can be both pleasurable and uncomfortable to look at.
Use your sculptures as costumes to create performance art. Discover your own way of expressing yourself whilst wearing your creations!

This event is part of the Summer of Sculpture. The Summer of Sculpture is a series of programmes and events celebrating the Thomas J. Price Display coming to the V&A and the range of identities that exist within the collection. Across August, families are invited to explore how artists create sculptures inspired by the human form and to how we can explore identity through art, design, and performance.

This is a families event for adults to do with children; no child can be left unattended. Suitable for ages 5+.
