Icelandic illustrator Kristjana S. Williams blends traditional Victorian engravings with digital collage techniques to create playful landscapes full of hidden details. Here, we invite you into her eye-popping studio for a sneak peek at her latest V&A commission: illustrating a new Alice in Wonderland themed book to accompany the 2021 exhibition 'Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser'.

Discover how Kristjana took inspiration from the V&A’s collection of 19th-century 'paper peepshows', as well as John Tenniel's famous Alice illustrations, to develop her own unique Wonderland for the V&A.
