How can you be creative with code? Learn how creative technologist Jen Sykes, worked with Digital Skills Education to help young people code their own ‘Data Selfies’ and get advice on making it in creative technologies industries.

This session will introduce students to the V&A’s Digital art and design collection to inspire their own work. Then Jen and the Digital Skills Education team will discuss the intersection of art and technology, exploring how personal data can be used to create self-portraits. The team will also discuss advice on careers within digital design. Students will be able to put their questions to the team and get tips on making it in the industry, free tools to be creative with code and how to get started.

Digital Skills Education has run creative technology workshops for thousands of young people. They’ll take learners behind the scenes in their popular resource, ‘Code Your Own Data Selfie’. Students will also get a brief introduction to the V&A’s collection of digital art and design as part of this online session hosted on Zoom.
