National Art Library educational group visits

If you are a group involved in researching, studying, working or participating in the arts, you can discover more about the services and collections of the Library through one of our group visit sessions. Choose from the following:

  • Introduction to the Library, including tips on how to make better use of the catalogue and how to find what's in the collection.
  • Introduction to a particular area of the collection, where we will select the material and present the session to the group. Choose from Treasures of the National Art Library or Contemporary Book Art.
  • A session where you (the group leader) selects and presents Library collections for your own teaching purposes. A member of Library staff will attend the session to give a brief introduction to the Library and to guide your group in the handling of the material, but you will be responsible for the main content.
  • A bespoke session where a librarian selects and discusses a range of items on a topic of your choosing. This is a charged for service, as it entails original research.

Group visits are held on Mondays, 14.00 – 16.00. Groups are limited to 20 individuals, with a minimum of 10 attendees. Please book at least three weeks in advance.
