Three classic designs to keep your little one warm and looking cute in the colder winter months.

The Ribbed Bonnet

Suggested yarn: The bonnet took 1 oz. of 'Emu' Unshrinkable 3-ply Vest Wool (about 140½ yds. to 1 oz).
Measurements (after pressing): The bonnet measures 13½ ins. round face, and from front to centre back 6 ins.
Needles: Two pairs of No. 11 and No. 13 needles and a medium-sized crochet hook, and 2 yards of narrow ribbon.

The Cone-Patterned Bonnet

Suggested yarn: The bonnet took 1 oz. of 'Emu' Unshrinkable 3-ply Vest Wool (about 140½ yds. to 1 oz).
Measurements: The bonnet measures 12½ ins. round face. From front to centre back 6 ins.
Needles: A pairs of No. 9 knitting needles and 1 yard of ribbon.

Bonnet with Moss-stitch Panels

Suggested yarn: The bonnet took 1 oz. of 'Emu' Unshrinkable 3-ply Vest Wool (about 140½ yds. to 1 oz).
Measurements: The bonnet measures 14 ins. round face. From front to centre back 6 ins.
Needles: Two pairs of No. 9 and No. 12 knitting needles.

Fair Isle Beret – Fig. A

Suggested yarn: 1 oz. PATONS BEEHIVE Fingering, 3-ply ("Patonised" shrink-resist finish), Natural, 20 yds. Green, also small quantities of coloured wools for zig-zag stripes (4 yds. of each of Dark and Light for each stripe).
Measurements: Width all round head-band (when slightly stretched), 18 ins.
Needles: Two No. 9 "BEEHIVE" Knitting Needles, measured by Beehive gauge.

Fair Isle Beret – Fig. B

Suggested yarn: 1 oz. PATONS BEEHIVE Fingering, 3-ply ("Patonised" shrink-resist finish), Natural, 34 yds. Green, 24 yds. Yellow, 14 yds. Red and 40 yds. Brown.
Measurements: Width all round head-band (when slightly stretched), 19 ins.
Needles: Two No. 9 "BEEHIVE" Knitting Needles, measured by Beehive gauge.

Fair Isle Beret – Fig. C

Suggested yarn: 1 oz. PATONS BEEHIVE Fingering, 3-ply ("Patonised" shrink-resist finish), Natural, 42 yds. Rose, 35 yds. Green , 38 yds. Wine and 9 yds. Blue.
Measurements: Width all round head-band (when slightly stretched), 20 ins.
Needles: Two No. 9 "BEEHIVE" Knitting Needles, measured by Beehive gauge.
